Some folks use the terms mini digger and excavator like they’re the same thing. That’s…
Excavating in Delicate Ecosystems
In order to preserve the environment, special precautions need to be taken when excavating in delicate ecosystems. When using special amphibious equipment like marsh excavators, you can rest assured that your ecosystem will be protected.
Sometimes, waterways may be too shallow or inaccessible with traditional marine equipment, making it nearly impossible to reach for dredging. Forcefully entering the area with equipment that’s not specialized for the job can result in damage to native flora and fauna.
Thankfully, marsh excavators are perfect when it comes to carefully performing these shallow water operations. Amphibious equipment works seamlessly with large hydraulic suction dredges that pump silt away from the waterway floor.
This excess silt and water cannot be discharged into the swamp and marsh. This would be particularly hazardous to the surrounding wildlife and plants. Because of this, excavators are used to construct levee systems in low-lying areas that contain the excess water and silt. They can also construct the pipe systems needed to transport the waste from the excavation site for removal and disposal.
